Peppermint Penny

Jumper - Topshop
Pleather Skirt - H&M
Plimsolls - New Look
Nail Varnish - Topshop "Venus Fly Trap"

So I realise that I've been a completely useless blogger recently...a thousand apologies...things have been absolutely crazy busy in my work, personal and home life over the last couple of weeks AND then I went to Valencia for a week so I haven't had time to breathe let alone blog, but now I'm back!

This is the outfit I wore for an all day birthday bbq last weekend and I love it! The cropped jumper is the first piece of clothing I've bought from Topshop in foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and, although I have no idea what possessed me to pair it with the least summery item in my wardrobe, I quite like the look of the soft minty knit with the structured pleather.

As it was a bbq heels definitely weren't an option so I threw on my New Look plimsolls. These have been glued to my feet since I picked them up for a bargain £9.99 last week and they're super comfy, perfect for dancing on the tables...but that's a whole other story!

I've got a couple of mega life changes coming up over the next month or so and may be pretty sporadic with my blogging but if you're at all interested to know what I'm up to, please check out my YouTube channel for update videos!

Hope you're all having a lovely week, fingers crossed for continued sunshine!

What's New Pussycat?

ASOS Sunglasses - HERE

I find it impossible to find sunglasses that suit my face shape and when these little beauties caught my eye on the ASOS website I thought it was worth a try (free return delivery and all that!) I prefer tortoise shell over black glasses for Summer and the cat eye detail makes them feel a little vintage - for £12 you can't ask more than that!

They arrived a week or so ago and haven't left my face since. Even though they're now a little wonky from being sat on...I couldn't care less...this is true love!

Sunshine On My Window Makes Me Happy

Cropped Jumper - Primark
Anklet (worn as necklace) - The Bohemian Collective HERE
Dress- Primark
Converse - Office HERE

The weather in England has been absolutely amazing for the last week or so. Blue skies and sunshine pretty much every day! Annoyingly all my summer clothes are bagged up and hidden away for "summer" so I've been having to put together warm weather outfits out of my Autmn/Winter wardrobe.

This skater dress from Primark has already featured on my blog HERE and I was obsessed with this cropped jumper over the Christmas period (see HERE ) so I thought why not combine the two! I think the flouncy skater skirt of the dress mixed with the cream jumper really lends itself to spring/summer and of course a floral/cream colour palette is just perfect for this kind of weather. This kind of outfit could really easily be adapted for cold weather with ankle boots and black tights but I decided to tone down it's femininity with dirty ole converse!

Typically, having boasted about how amazing the weather is, whilst sitting here typing this up all I can see outside is grey sky and people putting up their umbrellas...

Bare Faced Cheek

This is what I wore for a day out in London last weekend.
"Oh Lawd, another Missguided T shirt dress" I hear you cry! Well I'm sorry, you'd better get used to it as I am o.b.s.e.s.s.e.d with these bad boys!

Some might say these dresses are a little shapeless but I DIY'd a cinched waist with an old Primark shirt and topped off the whole look my aztec backpack and cut out boots.

T shirt dress - Missguided HERE
Shirt - Primark Mens
Boots - Matalan
Backpack - Primark

This was the most perfect outfit for a day out in this changeable weather as you can layer up or down in the blink of an eye. I honestly think these dresses are such good staple pieces that can be styled for so many different occasions - to prove my point and justify my love for them I'm planning on putting toghether a "5 ways I style these" post...watch this space!

What do you think of this look?

Twenty Four

Dress - Missguided HERE
Boots - Matalan (v v v v v old)
Cardigan - New Look (last year)

On Sunday I turned 24. As I'm getting on a bit I decided not to have a heavy night out clubbing 'til the early hours but instead to spend the day mooching in the sunshine with my family and our little bundle of scruff Hector!

If you're going to spend the day mooching, you need to be comfortable and this Missguided T shirt dress is made for just that! I ordered both the black and the white the other day and I know that they'll become a staple for the rest of the summer. They're really good quality, made of thick cotton with roll sleeves and a ribbed neck and cost less than £16! Mine are 10s and the length is the only thing that I'm not totally sold on as there's no shape to these dresses at all, the mid length could lead to a serious case of frumpery if I'm not careful. I think the white one will eventually be turned up a couple of inches...eventually...

These dresses are made to throw on and they hide bellies full of birthday cake - it's a double thumbs up from me! I'm also lusting after this one from MG and this one from Never Fully Dressed.

The pendant necklace I'm wearing was a gift from my parents, a little bunny looking at the moon, fitting eh?!

Rings - the usuall/DIY post HERE
Nail Varnish - Bourjois So Laque "04 Amande"

Hope you all had a beautiful weekend and thank you for my birthday wishes!

What do you think about t shirt dresses? Love 'em or hate 'em?

I Fell In Love At The Seaside

Tomorrow is my 24th birthday so I'm back at my parents house down south for the weekend. Our birthday tradition is to head to the beach during the day, take a dip, walk up and down the sand and then hurry home with fresh crab for supper...so that's what we did!

Crop Top - New Look similar HERE
Shorts - H&M similar HERE
Scarf - gift

The weather was amazing so I threw on my beloved crochet shorts and a basic NL top for the day out.  It's such an easy outfit to throw together and can be easily layered with a cardigan and/or scarf if the sun goes in.

And yes...I wore wellies to the beach...don't knock it 'til you've tried it!

We go to the same beach every year but this year it earned it's own little celebrity status!

Anyone recognise it?

This is West Bay nestled next to the small fishing village of Bridport in Dorset. It's the location they used for the amazing series that was...Broadchurch! For those of you who have been living under a rock for the last couple of months Broadchurch was a murder mystery series on ITV featuring David Tennant and Olivia Coleman - like most of the country I was hooked and couldn't believe that our little beach had become a national celebrity!

There aren't any signs of increased tourism or cashing in on the programme but they've still got the sign up at the "police station" and a window full of Broadchurch memorabilia
 in Jack's newsagents!

Cardigan - Primark?

Loved this!

We worked up an appetite walking along the beach and taking a little dip in the sea *think of the calories, think of the calories* and then stuffed ourselves with scampi and chips on the harbour front with the seagulls!

I'm not sure what our plans are for tomorrow but at the moment I'm curled up in my pjs watching "HP & The Goblet of Fire" with the fam and I couldn't be happier!

Hope you're all having a stonker of a weekend!

Love Will Tear Us Apart - OOTN

This dress is flying round the blogisphere at the moment! Every single blogger and You Tuber in their right mind has got their hands on one of these badboys and I for one can completely understand the hype. They cost £12, fit like a dream and have a Topshop worthy print that flatters every complexion!

My dress had it's first formal outing the other night when we headed out for my boyfriend's birthday supper, and it passed the food baby test with flying colours!

Dress - Primark
Boots - Matalan HERE
Lipstick - Kate Moss for Rimmel no 107 HERE

I've seen it worn with heels, hats and collars but I decided to wear mine with my current favourite stompy boots. They were a bargain buy from Matalan and I've been living in them for the last month or so. They have cut outs at the heels which I'm not a fan of but if I wear them with plain black socks only the eagle eyed would notice!

Do any of you have one of these dresses? I'd love to know how you'd style it!

OOTD: Greek Beach Party

Top - New Look
Shorts - Primark
Shoes - New Look
Sunglasses - H&M

The final part of the wedding was the party on the beach on Sunday..errr...WOW! The happy couple had hired out a breathtaking bay for the party complete with bar and food stalls.

Having spent 3 days celebrating it was nice to relax with the friends we'd made throughout the wedding and we spent the sunny afternoon in and out of the sea, drinking cocktails and prancing round in our personalised wedding t shirts!

So long Greece, it was a pleasure!

Now I'm back to England *sob* and work *sob*...meh. What did you all think of these posts? I hope they were interesting, back to normal English outfit posts against mediocre backgrounds very soon!

OOTD: Greensleeves

Who doesn't love a lark in the park on a Sunday?!

Fisherman Jumper - Matalan
Shorts - River Island (old)
Pumps- Primark similar HERE

Winter on the top, summer on the bottom - kind of perfect for this changeable weather!

TMLP Barry M Lipstick - buy HERE

The lipstick I'm wearing is my latest obsession, the new Barry M "Touch of Magic" lip paint.

It's bright green in colour in the tube but once on your lips turns a bright pink colour...abracadabra..."you're a wizard Harry!" Retailing at just under £5 I would recommend it just for the novelty alone to be honest but the flash of colour adds an interesting touch to even the most boring of outfits

It goes on a bright fuchsia kind of colour which grows darker for about 5 - 10 minutes and has a matte finish. As someone who doesn't suit bright lip colours, this one is perfect for me as it adapts slightly to suit your skin tone and looks good on absolutely everyone!

Check it ouuuuuuuuuutttttttttttttt

Would love to know if any of you have tried this or similar "magic" lipsticks!
