Bare Faced Cheek

This is what I wore for a day out in London last weekend.
"Oh Lawd, another Missguided T shirt dress" I hear you cry! Well I'm sorry, you'd better get used to it as I am o.b.s.e.s.s.e.d with these bad boys!

Some might say these dresses are a little shapeless but I DIY'd a cinched waist with an old Primark shirt and topped off the whole look my aztec backpack and cut out boots.

T shirt dress - Missguided HERE
Shirt - Primark Mens
Boots - Matalan
Backpack - Primark

This was the most perfect outfit for a day out in this changeable weather as you can layer up or down in the blink of an eye. I honestly think these dresses are such good staple pieces that can be styled for so many different occasions - to prove my point and justify my love for them I'm planning on putting toghether a "5 ways I style these" post...watch this space!

What do you think of this look?

Coco Made Me Do It

Something came over me the other day and I found myself trawling Ebay for a snapback I could call my own! They're not my usual style at all but when I saw this little beauty I just couldn't resist.

Cap - Ebay similar HERE
Top - H&M
Shorts - DIY
Shoes - Primark

Snapbacks are so far out of my comfort zone it took me a while to press "buy now" and actually add one to my wardrobe. I wanted one that wasn' too edgy hipster or sk8ter boi and this one had me at first glance. Whoever Coco is, she's a legend and I'm tempted to invest in one of these matching tees too...maybe wear them at the same time...maybe not...

I took my new baby out for a spin at a BBQ and it went down a storm with my buddies. I'd like to try pairing it with little dresses and chunky boots but it's going to take a while to pluck up the courage!

Hope you all had a good weekend! I'd love to know how you would style this cap, tell meeeee!

OOTD: Wedding Belles

The wedding was set for midday on Saturday in a little old town set on the side of a mountain. It was going to be a beautiful day but outfit wise the heat of the midday sun, the hours of standing around, the sloping roads and wonky cobbles all gave me the willies!

Dress - Peacocks (v old)
Clutch - Mulberry
Sunglasses - New Look
Manky old moccasins - New Look

The complete lack of heelage with this outfit makes me really really sad. It just doesn't look right at all finished with dirty moccasins but in to be honest my feet started to hurt in flats after 3 hours of standing on cobbles in the sunshine so I'm kinda glad I went for practicality over looks!

My dress was a total saviour, it's a super old cheapy from Peacocks that was hiding in the back of my wardrobe! Pure cotton, floaty skirt and a tight bustier which allowed me to go braless so I was cool, calm and collected throughout the long, hot service.

I've never been to a traditional Greek wedding before, it was an incredible thing to watch! Every move made my the bride and groom was correographed, almost like a play as they both arrived from different sides of the church to meet each other outside before heading in.

The groom, Enrico, arrived on a "donkey" (pretty sure it was just a pony but that's not the point) with his best man to greet the guests. A bit later the violins and guitars started playing to announce the arrival of the bride, Katerina, and her parents.

Katerina's dress was unbelievably beautiful, apparently made by one of the most famous designers in Greece, lacy and delicate if not a little risque, she looked elegant and ethereal.

Greeks don't do pews in churches, it's sort of a free-for-all with people going in and out when they get too hot or want to see what's going on. The interior of the church was an ecclectic jumble of chandeliers, statues, paintings and hundreds of guests all trying to see the happy couple!

At the end of the ceremony the guests all throw rice all over the newly weds and they do a special little dance together to celebrate!

Everyone headed to the local square for drinks and then to the beach to cool off before the evening reception - post to follow!

OOTD: Greensleeves

Who doesn't love a lark in the park on a Sunday?!

Fisherman Jumper - Matalan
Shorts - River Island (old)
Pumps- Primark similar HERE

Winter on the top, summer on the bottom - kind of perfect for this changeable weather!

TMLP Barry M Lipstick - buy HERE

The lipstick I'm wearing is my latest obsession, the new Barry M "Touch of Magic" lip paint.

It's bright green in colour in the tube but once on your lips turns a bright pink colour...abracadabra..."you're a wizard Harry!" Retailing at just under £5 I would recommend it just for the novelty alone to be honest but the flash of colour adds an interesting touch to even the most boring of outfits

It goes on a bright fuchsia kind of colour which grows darker for about 5 - 10 minutes and has a matte finish. As someone who doesn't suit bright lip colours, this one is perfect for me as it adapts slightly to suit your skin tone and looks good on absolutely everyone!

Check it ouuuuuuuuuutttttttttttttt

Would love to know if any of you have tried this or similar "magic" lipsticks!

The Little Magpie - Getting On ABit

Photo belongs to Amy - http://amybell-thelittlemagpie.blogspot.co.uk

Amy's blog is one of my absolute favourite reads. The outfits she wears on a daily basis are always totally unique and eclectic pulled together with statement jewellery and amaaaaaazing hair but this post really stood out for me.
A DIY safety pin dress that Liz Hurley would be jealous of, cut out boots and a fedora for an all-black beaut of a look in themselves but mixed with cowboy jewellery and a to-die-for kimono...top of the class Amy!

Sara Luxe - Choies Choice

Photo belongs to Sara - http://www.saraluxe.com When I was younger I wanted to be a witch. Sadly this was not to be, but if it had been, this is exactly the kind of stylish all black outfit I would wear!
Sara's looks are always effortlessly cool and she mixes slightly "out-there" pieces with high street staples in a way which turns me green with envy. This little dress with cobwebby type shoulder detail paired with chunky lace up boots and quirky glasses is still making me dribble a month later!

Photo belongs to Lily - http://www.llymlrs.com

Anyone who follows Lily's blog will be aware of her undying love for monochrome outfits. I'm not a massive fan of the look on myself but Lily pulls it off with aplomb by choosing unusual pieces and accessories to add to otherwise simple outfits.
This look is my all time favourite posts of hers. Those incredible trousers are paired with a plain cold shoulder t shirt to keep all the focus on their print and vibrant colour - love love loveeeeee Lily!

What do you think of the bloggers looks I've chosen?

OOTD: Camel Racing

The title of this post is no joke.

On Monday we travelled to a field in the middle of nowhere to go to a country fair type event with ferris wheel, candyfloss, dog shows and...yes...camel racing!

I have honestly never seen anything like it! Camels are bloody enormous, definitely a lot bigger than I thought they were and they tower over a 6ft human. The jockeys were more used to riding ponies in gymkhanas than these mighty "ships of the desert" and looked absolutely terrified. As soon as they were mounted the camels were raring to go and then they were off!!

I do like camels. They have eyelashes to die for. But I don't want one as a pet. Thanks but no thanks.

Jacket - Primark (v old) with the sleeves hacked off
Dress - River Island £12 in the sale!

Hope you all had a b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l bank holiday weekend!

OOTD: 21st Birthday!

It was my little sister's 21st birthday on Saturday, where has the time gone? Swear she only turned 18 last year!

We all went down to take her out for a grown up lunch in Bristol. She's bang in the middle of exams at the moment so the mega birthday blow out will have to be postponed 'til June sadly!

Coat - Ebay
Top - New Look (previous post)
High waisted jeans - Topshop
Boots - Ebay
Bag - Matalan (only got the white ones left online but I'm pretty sure that the black ones are still available in stores)

Rings - Forever 21, my shop, New Zealand, birthday gift

Totally in love with my NL breton tops that I featured in a previous post, they're so comfy and versatile!

My coat is a Zara wannabe from Ebay - it is a pretty good replica and I'm happy with the way it looks but the materials used are very plasticky (definitely prone to sweating if it's a little warm) and the delivery time from China was over month...but for a fraction of the price of the real thing I guess I can't really complain!

Had a lovely three course meal down at the harbour side and had a little wander round Bristol to help our food digest! It's such a wicked city and definitely worth a visit if you haven't been before. Groups of students in fancy dress getting rattered at 2pm...my kind of place!

Can't believe she's 21!!

Do check out my Primark Haul video I made the other day and let me know what you think, if you haven't already - click here for link

I got some proper pictures done for this outfit post. What do you think?

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

OOTD: Kiss Me Quick

Ahooooooooooooooy there! Felt like I should have been wearing a sailors cap with this jolly little outfit.

T shirt - New Look
Skirt - New Look
Tights - COS
Boots - Primark

Lipstick - "Plum" Forever 21
Necklace - Morrocco

Look at my crazy happy face!! I picked up 2 of these long sleeved Breton tops when there was a "2 for £8" deal on and this little denim look skirt was only £15 - hell yessssss!

If you haven't been into New Look for a while you really should pop in and have a mooch round. They've got some lovely stuff in stock at the moment and it seems as though the days of scattered diamante all over everything are gone thank goodness.

This felt like a very summery/nautical little look especially paired with my burgundy Primarni boots but sadly the weather didn't hold out and I was changed back into my onesie pretty quickly after these pictures were taken.

Hope you're all getting super excited about the weekend

OOTN: Can't Touch This

Saturday night was the time to take my new Celine-style tee out for a spin!

It's taken me a good month or so to get hold of one of these bad boys. They've been bombing round the blogisphere for a couple of months now and as a result have been sold out on Ebay but my bad luck stopped the other week and I'm now a proud owner of my very own version!

ALIEN IN A T SHIRT ALERT!

T Shirt - Ebay
Trousers - H&M (sale)
Shoes - New Look (v old)

Collar - Morrocco
Spiked Necklace - ASOS (old)
Name Necklace - mynamenecklace.com
Hamsa Hand - Morrocco
Teardrop pendant - Xmas present

I teamed my tee with burgundy faux-leather trousers, courts and some serious neck armour. I've been seeing a lot of necklace stacking going on on Instagram and have been meaning to hunt down some cheap necklaces to connect together  when I have the time - it looks so freaking cool! Everyone loves a good arm party so why not let your neck have one too?

Just a quick heads up...whole body parties + vodka aren't such a good look...!

What do you think about of these t-shirts and stacked necklaces?
