Bare Faced Cheek

This is what I wore for a day out in London last weekend.
"Oh Lawd, another Missguided T shirt dress" I hear you cry! Well I'm sorry, you'd better get used to it as I am o.b.s.e.s.s.e.d with these bad boys!

Some might say these dresses are a little shapeless but I DIY'd a cinched waist with an old Primark shirt and topped off the whole look my aztec backpack and cut out boots.

Boots - Matalan
Backpack - Primark

This was the most perfect outfit for a day out in this changeable weather as you can layer up or down in the blink of an eye. I honestly think these dresses are such good staple pieces that can be styled for so many different occasions - to prove my point and justify my love for them I'm planning on putting toghether a "5 ways I style these" post...watch this space!

What do you think of this look?

Twenty Four

Dress - Missguided HERE
Boots - Matalan (v v v v v old)
Cardigan - New Look (last year)

On Sunday I turned 24. As I'm getting on a bit I decided not to have a heavy night out clubbing 'til the early hours but instead to spend the day mooching in the sunshine with my family and our little bundle of scruff Hector!

If you're going to spend the day mooching, you need to be comfortable and this Missguided T shirt dress is made for just that! I ordered both the black and the white the other day and I know that they'll become a staple for the rest of the summer. They're really good quality, made of thick cotton with roll sleeves and a ribbed neck and cost less than £16! Mine are 10s and the length is the only thing that I'm not totally sold on as there's no shape to these dresses at all, the mid length could lead to a serious case of frumpery if I'm not careful. I think the white one will eventually be turned up a couple of inches...eventually...

These dresses are made to throw on and they hide bellies full of birthday cake - it's a double thumbs up from me! I'm also lusting after this one from MG and this one from Never Fully Dressed.

The pendant necklace I'm wearing was a gift from my parents, a little bunny looking at the moon, fitting eh?!

Nail Varnish - Bourjois So Laque "04 Amande"

Hope you all had a beautiful weekend and thank you for my birthday wishes!

What do you think about t shirt dresses? Love 'em or hate 'em?

Bloggers Lookbook July 2013

It's a bit late but finally here's my 3 favourite blogger looks from the last month, enjoy!

Bell's Fashion - Holiday Outfits: Day Seven

Photo belongs to Helena from www.bellsfashion.blogspot.co.uk

This two piece is undeniably beautiful but I was gobsmacked by the way Helena's styled it with chunky sandals and a lacey kimono - it shouldn't work but it really does! This gal makes mixing up high street, vintage and handmade pieces look easy peasy...but don't be fooled...it's a fine art and she's a pro.

Photo belongs to Lydia from www.fashioninflux.blogspot.co.uk

There's nothing about Lydia that doesn't turn me green with envy - she's a classic beauty and has a wardrobe to die for! Her outfits tend to be pretty edgy but this simple look really caught my eye.Who else could pull off this quirky schoolgirl with such ease? Top of the class!

What Is In Her Wardrobe - Rottweiler

Photo belongs to Gemma from www.whatisinherwardrobe.blogspot.co.uk

Gemma's blog is a recent discovery for me and I'm an instant convert! Her vibe changes from post to post, from boho to high fashion, but she makes every look her own and stamps them with her own individual style. Colour blocking, gold detailing and that woofy tee make this an outfit to remember!

I Fell In Love At The Seaside

Tomorrow is my 24th birthday so I'm back at my parents house down south for the weekend. Our birthday tradition is to head to the beach during the day, take a dip, walk up and down the sand and then hurry home with fresh crab for supper...so that's what we did!

Shorts - H&M similar HERE
Scarf - gift

The weather was amazing so I threw on my beloved crochet shorts and a basic NL top for the day out.  It's such an easy outfit to throw together and can be easily layered with a cardigan and/or scarf if the sun goes in.

And yes...I wore wellies to the beach...don't knock it 'til you've tried it!

We go to the same beach every year but this year it earned it's own little celebrity status!

Anyone recognise it?

This is West Bay nestled next to the small fishing village of Bridport in Dorset. It's the location they used for the amazing series that was...Broadchurch! For those of you who have been living under a rock for the last couple of months Broadchurch was a murder mystery series on ITV featuring David Tennant and Olivia Coleman - like most of the country I was hooked and couldn't believe that our little beach had become a national celebrity!

There aren't any signs of increased tourism or cashing in on the programme but they've still got the sign up at the "police station" and a window full of Broadchurch memorabilia
 in Jack's newsagents!

Cardigan - Primark?

Loved this!

We worked up an appetite walking along the beach and taking a little dip in the sea *think of the calories, think of the calories* and then stuffed ourselves with scampi and chips on the harbour front with the seagulls!

I'm not sure what our plans are for tomorrow but at the moment I'm curled up in my pjs watching "HP & The Goblet of Fire" with the fam and I couldn't be happier!

Hope you're all having a stonker of a weekend!

DIY: Above Knuckle Rings

The plain, silver above knuckle rings that I was wearing in my latest Primark haul video got  lotta loving and I thought I'd be good citizen and share their sneaky secret!

5 Plain Silver Above Knuckle Rings - DIY
Others - Gifts/Primark/River Island
Nail Varnish - Barry M Gelly "Greenberry"

Above knuckle rings seem to be ridiculously overpriced in the shops at the moment and as someone who loses rings on a daily basis I refuse to pay £8 - £15 for a ring that will go missing next Saturday night. But I needed to get me paws on some of these rings, so I had a little think and ... BINGO!!

And now for the secret...these dupes are simply large jump rings, normally used for jewellery making!

Would you have guessed?!

The only thing that gives them away is the join in the ring but that sits on the underside of my fingers anyway so no one is any the wiser!

To decide which ones to order I measured the rough circumference of my middle finger and ordered these 18mm ones off Ebay. They fit perfectly on my second and middle fingers but are a little looser on my ring finger...meh. If you're worried about the sizing I would opt for a mm or so smaller than you think you need but make sure the rings are "open" so you can open or close them as you wish to fit each finger. I've lost a couple but at less than £2 for 20, that's hardly a problem!

So there we go! The secret is out and now you can all get some of these DIY beauties for yourselves...no one will ever know...

Coco Made Me Do It

Something came over me the other day and I found myself trawling Ebay for a snapback I could call my own! They're not my usual style at all but when I saw this little beauty I just couldn't resist.

Cap - Ebay similar HERE
Top - H&M
Shorts - DIY
Shoes - Primark

Snapbacks are so far out of my comfort zone it took me a while to press "buy now" and actually add one to my wardrobe. I wanted one that wasn' too edgy hipster or sk8ter boi and this one had me at first glance. Whoever Coco is, she's a legend and I'm tempted to invest in one of these matching tees too...maybe wear them at the same time...maybe not...

I took my new baby out for a spin at a BBQ and it went down a storm with my buddies. I'd like to try pairing it with little dresses and chunky boots but it's going to take a while to pluck up the courage!

Hope you all had a good weekend! I'd love to know how you would style this cap, tell meeeee!

Wear Flowers In Your Hair - OOTN

They say "less is more" but I don't consider that to always be the case. Sometimes more is more. Sometimes you need a little over indulgence in life, whether it's food, fashion or SATC reruns and that's a ok!

Today was one of those days and I wanted to wear denim, pleather, flowers and studs all at once! It's not to everyone's taste but so what?!
