Company Style Blogger Awards 2014

On Wednesday I had the privilege of attending the Company #StyleBlogger Awards at the Oval Space in East London!

It was an amazing evening spent in the company of all those incredible bloggers I've been following for years, #fangirling all over the place!

MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who voted for my blog - I was shortlisted for an award and although I didn't win even being nominated was such an achievement for my teeny little blog and I honestly couldn't have got this far without the support from my readers & viewers. It honestly still baffles me that people are actually interested in what I have to say so thank you so so much for your support - means the world to me! *sob*

As unorganised as I am I totally forgot to charge my slr and hardly took any pictures, but did manage to bring along my point & shoot to capture some "vlog" footage - cue much shaky camera work and blurry film - so if you're interested to see what we got up to, do check out the below vid!

Over the next month or so I'm having a complete life overhaul and so many things are changing. I will be doing a video on it asap so please keep an eye out on my YouTube Channel for that but for a heads up I will be absent from my blog for a month or so until everything settles down again..but I'll still be on my Instagram(abritishbunny) so check that out if you fancy keeping up with me!

Urban Mermaid

Skeleton T Shirt - Primark similar HERE
Checked Shirt - Primark (mens)
Sequin Skirt - Motel Rocks (last year)
Boots - Matalan

Sequins, skeletons and lumberjack plaid...doesn't sound like a winning combination but I kind of love it!

This really was a last minute "thrown together" outfit for a night out in Brixton. I wore it when we headed to Hootenanny's for a night of dancing to celebrate one of my best friends birthdays the other weekend. It was an amazing night and this outfit was the most perfect combination of party/gig wear!

What do you think of this mashed up outfit?

Funnybones

Skeleton T Shirt - Primark
Skirt - Primark
Boots - Truffle
Spiked Headband - DIY see post HERE

I picked up this t shirt and skirt in an October Primark trip (Haul video HERE) a while ago. They've been paraded as separates but a happy accident led them to be worn together and I actually quite like the contrast of the bold tee with the heavy textured skirt!

This headband is a DIY project I created  back at the start of the year (see post HERE) and it's had a lot less wear than I would like! Apparently turning up to a nightclub wearing a headpiece studded with 2 inch spikes makes you a danger to society...who knew?

Dancing On My Own

Two Piece - Missguided HERE and HERE
Shoes - Primark
Belt - Primark

I'm back! Apologies for the total lack of bloggage over the last two weeks, I hope absence really does make the heart grow fonder!

This beautiful lace two piece is one of those outfits that I bought back at the start of the year on a whim. It's been sitting in my cupboard for a fair few months waiting for a suitable occasion and I only recently made the decision to wear it out to a friend's gig.

The truth is I was scared. This outfit is ridiculously unforgiving what with it's skintight nature and crop-gap the perfect size for a fat roll to creep through. Even with spanx every lump and bump is visible. This was an outfit to be worn amongst friends in a casual environment. I know some of you may be thinking, why wear it at all if you're not comfortable, but I refuse to intimidated by clothes especially when I've already paid for them! Does anyone else feel the same?

But in the end I manned up, bit the bullet, paired it with my trusty Primark "Vans" to avoid any further awkwardness and danced the night away!

Love Will Tear Us Apart - OOTN

This dress is flying round the blogisphere at the moment! Every single blogger and You Tuber in their right mind has got their hands on one of these badboys and I for one can completely understand the hype. They cost £12, fit like a dream and have a Topshop worthy print that flatters every complexion!

My dress had it's first formal outing the other night when we headed out for my boyfriend's birthday supper, and it passed the food baby test with flying colours!

Dress - Primark
Boots - Matalan HERE
Lipstick - Kate Moss for Rimmel no 107 HERE

I've seen it worn with heels, hats and collars but I decided to wear mine with my current favourite stompy boots. They were a bargain buy from Matalan and I've been living in them for the last month or so. They have cut outs at the heels which I'm not a fan of but if I wear them with plain black socks only the eagle eyed would notice!

Do any of you have one of these dresses? I'd love to know how you'd style it!

OOTN: Evening Sun

The other night I headed out to watch my friend's band play their first ever gig! They were incredible and it was a wicked night full of dancing and jagerbombbbbbbs!

I wanted a cool layered outfit with edgy accessories and came up with this gothic little number...

\
Dress - H&M
Faux Leather Gilet - Primark DIY
Boots - Topshop "Attitude" boots via Ebay
Clutch - Matalan

I love this outfit! It's so versatile and easy to wear for all sorts of different occasions - you could swap the boots for flats and make it far more casual looking or lose the gilet and pile on a big wooly cardigan instead.

H&M were doing these simple shift style dresses in a huge range of colours last year and I've got my fingers crossed they'll bring them back this year so I can stock up!

Clutch - HERE

For me, the main talking point (and probably least expensive bit of this outfit) is this beaut of a clutch from Matalan...for £14...holy moley.

It's ikat/aztec printed, embroidered with tiny orange and gold beads and the perfect size to store all the essentials for a good night out. I dithered over buying it for a couple of weeks as I have so many clutch bags I never use, and then posted it on Instagram for an opinion. Everyone said "buy" and when I popped in to have a nose round, there was only one left in the store...hello fate, thanks for that!

What do you think of this outfit?

Bloggers Lookbook: May 2013

The Little Magpie - Getting On ABit

Photo belongs to Amy - http://amybell-thelittlemagpie.blogspot.co.uk

Amy's blog is one of my absolute favourite reads. The outfits she wears on a daily basis are always totally unique and eclectic pulled together with statement jewellery and amaaaaaazing hair but this post really stood out for me.
A DIY safety pin dress that Liz Hurley would be jealous of, cut out boots and a fedora for an all-black beaut of a look in themselves but mixed with cowboy jewellery and a to-die-for kimono...top of the class Amy!

Sara Luxe - Choies Choice

Photo belongs to Sara - http://www.saraluxe.com When I was younger I wanted to be a witch. Sadly this was not to be, but if it had been, this is exactly the kind of stylish all black outfit I would wear!
Sara's looks are always effortlessly cool and she mixes slightly "out-there" pieces with high street staples in a way which turns me green with envy. This little dress with cobwebby type shoulder detail paired with chunky lace up boots and quirky glasses is still making me dribble a month later!

Photo belongs to Lily - http://www.llymlrs.com

Anyone who follows Lily's blog will be aware of her undying love for monochrome outfits. I'm not a massive fan of the look on myself but Lily pulls it off with aplomb by choosing unusual pieces and accessories to add to otherwise simple outfits.
This look is my all time favourite posts of hers. Those incredible trousers are paired with a plain cold shoulder t shirt to keep all the focus on their print and vibrant colour - love love loveeeeee Lily!

What do you think of the bloggers looks I've chosen?

Princess Peach

Who amongst us didn't want to be a princess when they were little?

For most of us that was never going to happen and 10 years on we're just happy in our own little lives...but hold your horses...don't give up on the dream just yet...

Crowns are making a comeback!

I need one of these on my head pronto!

Can definitely picture myself strolling around town wearing one of these with a plain t shirt dress and chunky boots. Of course you'd get a couple of odd looks, but know that deep inside all the too-cool-for-school teenage girls would be green with envy.

All photos belong to www.regalrose.co.uk

Regal Rose is the place to head to if you want to pick up one of these little beauties! They are selling "Arwen" ombre lace crowns in turquoise, purple and pink for £24 - a bargain of a price for something which could lead you to bag your Prince Charming!

Check out their full range of princess goodness HERE

Does anyone else fancy joining the Crown Cult with me?

OOTN: Can't Touch This

Saturday night was the time to take my new Celine-style tee out for a spin!

It's taken me a good month or so to get hold of one of these bad boys. They've been bombing round the blogisphere for a couple of months now and as a result have been sold out on Ebay but my bad luck stopped the other week and I'm now a proud owner of my very own version!

ALIEN IN A T SHIRT ALERT!

T Shirt - Ebay
Trousers - H&M (sale)
Shoes - New Look (v old)

Collar - Morrocco
Spiked Necklace - ASOS (old)
Name Necklace - mynamenecklace.com
Hamsa Hand - Morrocco
Teardrop pendant - Xmas present

I teamed my tee with burgundy faux-leather trousers, courts and some serious neck armour. I've been seeing a lot of necklace stacking going on on Instagram and have been meaning to hunt down some cheap necklaces to connect together  when I have the time - it looks so freaking cool! Everyone loves a good arm party so why not let your neck have one too?

Just a quick heads up...whole body parties + vodka aren't such a good look...!

What do you think about of these t-shirts and stacked necklaces?

OOTN: Black As Night

Oh hey there Friday night outfit...

Crop top - Topshop
Jamie jeans - Topshop
Ankle boots - New Look (sale)

Necklace - Primark

Oh ma Lawd I am sooooo in love with with this lipstick! Saw it recommended by Sammi from Beauty Crush  and had to check it out. The colour is a beautiful raspberry hue with a matte finish and it smells incredibleeeeeeee...nom nom nommmmm...

Primark have some absolutely amazing bits in store at the moment and I picked up this little rainbow number for £3 the other day! Just love the way it adds a pop of colour to this outfit and for such a diddy price it's a welcome addition to my wardrobe.

I wore this outfit for a girlie night out on Friday night and it's safe to say a good night was had by all...

Hope you're all well and had a wicked weekend

OOTN: Flourescent Adolescent

On Saturday night I went out to a charity event with my boyfriend's family. The dress code was smart casual but I'm not one to pass up an opportunity to dress up to the nines!

I toyed with the idea of buying something new but then stumbled across this H&M beauty I bought last year. It's an amazing structured ombre dress covered with geometric shapes and patterns - a total show stopper! The fitted cap sleeves, tight waist and lantern style skirt make me feel a little bit as if I'm wearing a kimono but I love how the shape of the dress makes my waist look teeny weeny.

Dress - H&M
Shoes - Matalan
Clutch - H&M

I actually took the hem on the dress up 5cm as it was an odd length just above the knee and although I was worried it would change the shape of the skirt, it seems to have held it's form really well.

The back has an interesting cut out with a single strap down the centre - it's different and the cut out isn't too big that you can't wear a bra with it.

Teamed with beautiful an super-cheap gold pointed courts and my RL patent clutch (freebie of course) I felt like a little fluoro fairy. Even the inevitable "drunken-aunt-at-a-wedding" dance moves I pulled out later in the evening couldn't make this dress look ugly!

Gawd, don't you just love it when you rediscover hidden treasures in your wardrobe?! These are the items that will keep reappearing in Facebook photos from time to time over the years but will continue to look fresh and exciting!

I hope you all had a good weekend. Don't want to jinx it but I have this sneaky suspicion that Spring is finally on it's way...
